ANIMAL HEALTH AND WELFARE

We are committed to achieving the highest standards of animal welfare for our pigs and we work closely with our farmers and landowners to meet and exceed those standards, including excellent sanitation,  biosecurity, nutrition and housing practices which are vital to support the health and well being of our pigs, all of which are raised to Red Tractor and RSPCA Freedom Food Assured standards. We are able to further improve welfare standards through the employment of our own dedicated Wold Farms vet,  who travels between our farms ensuring that animal health remains of paramount importance.

Animal Welfare

All our farms are independently audited on an annual basis by accredited, highly experienced individuals and we are ranked in Tier 2 in the global Business Benchmark on Farm Animal Welfare standards (BBFAW), which is an annual assessment of our business commitment to farm animal welfare. This demonstrates that we are actively managing the business risks and opportunities associated with farm animal welfare.

SUSTAINABILITY

Sustainability is a key focus at Wold Farms and we have committed to a rigorous set of standards which will make us one of the most sustainable farming businesses in the UK, with a target to be carbon neutral by 2030.

We have pledged to reduce CO2 emissions, monitor water usage and to the responsible use of antibiotics. Through reducing our environmental impact, we believe we have a sustainable business plan for the future.
